My Girls & Apples

Every now and then my own kids get to make an appearance on this blog!  It is my blog after all. I might post more if they didn’t look like ragamuffins all the time.  They dress themselves EVERY DAY, and I need to do something with their hair!

So, every late September/early October is our tradition of driving way out to Oak Glen and we go apple picking.  And since this week was apple week at kindergarten, and since Cameron had to bring an apple to school, I thought why not pick your own apple from a real apple orchard?.  Only problem is the “U-Pick” orchards weren’t open during the week.  Oh well.  The girls had so much fun tasting all the fresh goodies and running around on the huge lawn outside one of the orchards instead.  And I got fun photos of our little yearly tradition.

The no picking rule didn’t stop Cameron.  She jumped and tugged and shook and tugged until she finally got one itty bitty apple!

Taylor was just wandering off on her own in typical independent Taylor fashion.  Sitting exactly where I didn’t want her to sit, knowing I wanted photos under the apple tree.  Bleh.
And they’re off!  This is their idea of letting me get a photo of both of them.  By running past me as fast as they can.  I have zero control my own kids.
After illegally picking one apple, eating warm apple pie a la mode, and tasting fresh picked raspberries, apple cider and apple cider donuts (oh my God they were great), we finally leave with our own bag of fresh picked Spartan apples!
