Thursday was the Light & Fast Seminar put on by Jules Bianchi and John Mireles in Los Angeles. Wow! It was great. I was lucky enough to help Jules out by photographing bits and pieces of the day, handling some administrative things, was the light switch girl, lunch picker-upper, and then we ended the day with a lovely dinner. I also got to meet some really cool photographers that I hope to keep in touch with. It was a LONG day, and worth it if you ever get the chance to sign up for the next one.
John started off by discussing the basics of lighting, and then showed options of off camera lighting techniques, strobes, umbrellas, soft boxes, etc. They had SO much equipment on hand. Jules then went over all the lighting she brings to weddings, where she sets up for formals and receptions, as well as how she looks for light in every situation. It was so great. If you are a photographer and missed this seminar, I recommend booking Jules for one of her “Tea for Two” sessions.
